Job Description:

ARDEX Americas (www.ArdexAmericas.com), is a Global industry leader in the manufacturing and development of high-performance specialty building materials.

As Purchasing and Category Manager , you will be responsible for managing purchasing functions and developing and implementing procurement plans for the Americas markets. In additional to your purchasing experience, you will be a highly effective relationship builder (both internal departments and external customers), be a confident and influential communicator, and excellent negotiation skills.

Located at our Corporate campus, 20 minutes North of Pittsburgh International Airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement process of assigned commodities and materials
  • Analyze market conditions and develop annual budgets for all raw materials and packaging
  • Help negotiate supply contracts and best value pricing agreements with critical suppliers
  • Help direct supplier interaction with other internal departments to develop new products, lower overall costs, ensure on time deliveries, maximize volume leverage, and minimize supply risk
  • Monitor plant purchasing processes for cost effectiveness
  • Manage raw material supplier relationships to enhance value to Ardex and to find alternative sources of supply as needed
  • Assist with localizing raw materials based on manufacturing initiatives
  • Work with the procurement team to coordinate and improve the purchasing functions

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum two-five (2-5) years of purchasing experience
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of raw materials and packaging processes
  • Leadership experience preferred, or demonstrable ability to lead
  • Market analysis and budgeting skills
  • Strong and effective negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident communicator and presenter, with excellent relationship building skills
  • Team player able to work effectively with both internal departments and external customers
  • Understanding of retailer and end user requirements to help design packaging
  • Advanced MS Office user (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and background in MRP or ERP
  • Knowledge of current purchasing procedures and Purchasing Terms and Conditions
  • Dependability, accountability, adaptability, agility and responsiveness

 Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business or supply management.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager is desirable
