Job Description:

ARDEX Canada (www.Ardex.ca), part of the ARDEX Group, is the Global industry leader in the manufacturing and development of high-performance specialty building materials.

We are immediately hiring for a SALES PROFESSIONAL, with experience of TILE AND STONE INSTALLATION SYSTEMS, ONTARIO, with a concentration on TORONTO.

The successful individual will have a proven track record of developing and delivering new sales business opportunities with tile installers, tile contractors, architects and distributor partners. You will be an experienced business developer with exceptional customer follow up, lead generation skills, and the ability to close the sale. You will have a passion for the industry and enjoy exploring and delivering innovative solutions, through expert product advice, hands on product demonstrations, and product guidance. You will be comfortable both on jobsites and conducting business meetings with distributors.

This is a field position with a preferred home-office location of TORONTO. Up to 30% territory travel, including overnight on occasions. Experience of Tile and Stone Installation Products and Systems is essential.

  • Drive, develop, promote and grow sales of ARDEX products and systems throughout territory
  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with distributors, contractors, specifiers and other key business influencers
  • Retain current accounts and prospect new business development
  • Successfully launch and promote new products via hands on product demonstrations, presentations & professional product displays
  • Collaborate with Corporate resources such Technical, Customer Service, Marketing, Logistics etc., to deliver exceptional standards of service to ARDEX customers
  • Drive lead generation through jobsite visits, lead generation services, cold calls etc.
  • Develop and successfully execute field sales action plans
  • Achieve and exceed targets, goals and objectives, as established with Sales Manager
  • Represent ARDEX as an industry leader through exceptional professional standards, and a 'customer first' approach.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years outside sales experience is essential
  • Demonstrable experience of Tile and Stone Installation Systems is essential (thin sets, sub floor preparation, cement & epoxy grouts, under tile waterproofing, commercial & residential). Tile and stone installation experience is desirable
  • Must be able to confidently and professionally conduct product presentations and demonstrations
  • Must be able to operate non power and power tools. Demonstrates good mechanical or hands-on skills to meet the needs of intensive and physically demanding field support and service
  • Technically proficient as demonstrated by passing ARDEX Technical Field Proficiency tests annually (approximately two per year)
  • Familiar with architectural specifications and construction design elements
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm for the business and be customer-driven and professional
  • Self-starter. Able to use initiative, work and adapt to a fast paced and changing market
  • Able to make sound business decisions, influence, be assertive and close a sale

  • Proficient in digital systems: Microsoft Word, Email, Internet, PowerPoint and CRM systems
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must be able to travel throughout assigned territory as per advertised amounts, including some overnight
  • Must be able to lift to 70 pounds with a carrying capability of 55 pounds
