Job Description:

We are immediately hiring a Buyer/Procurement Specialist to work in our Dallas Georgia, Manufacturing Facility.

Summary:

The Buyer/Procurement Specialist will be responsible for forecasting the company’s raw material needs, maintaining inventory levels, negotiating contracts with vendors, placing purchase orders, and identifying process improvements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall Production and Inventory MRP systems
  • Support Plant management with planning and execution of product and material changes.
  • Be aware of targeted inventory levels established by management team and execute purchasing process to meet those levels
  • Organize and Manage monthly & year end cycle count, to include Finished Goods, Packaging, Raw Materials and WIP.
  • Manage the procurement process of raw materials & packaging required by the plant to meet the strategic objectives of the organization
  • Analyze market conditions and develop annual budgets for raw materials and packaging under responsibility
  • Help negotiate & secure supply contracts and best value pricing agreements with critical suppliers and carriers
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Localization efforts

Experience and Skills:

Skills Required:

  • Five (5) years of purchasing experience and proven leadership abilities
  • Outstanding organizational skills, ability to manage multiple processes at one time.
  • Experience with and knowledge of raw materials and packaging.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interact effectively with supplier base at all levels
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal to help expedite strategic goals of the organization
  • Team player able to work effectively with all internal customers
  • Ability to listen and react to the needs of suppliers, customers and colleagues
  • Understanding of retailer and end user requirements to help design packaging accordingly
  • Background in MRP a plus
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Cognos BI experience a plus
  • High Level of excel is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current purchasing procedures and understanding of Purchasing Terms and Conditions
  • Dependability, accountability, adaptability, and responsiveness are essential

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business or supply management
  • Certified Purchasing Manager
